Fred Pullen’s Blog :: Microsoft Technical Evangelism

Listen with webReader

A mutual friend, Mike Pinsky, put me in touch with Fred Pullen, who I know from high school and haven’t seen in ages. In fact, our reunion is coming up in a month or so and it looks like I won’t be the only blogger attending (if I can make it) as Fred maintains his own blog.

It kind of comes with the job, though, of being a Technical Evangelist for Microsoft! I wonder if he knows Robert Scoble, who linkblogged me a month ago, and whom I might see speak at Reboot 7.0 in Copenhagen (again, if I make it)?

Small world. And good memories.

By the way, I’d like to hear Fred’s presentation on the Windows Mobile platform: Fred Pullen’s Blog :: Colorado Springs, CO on Thursday, May 26th.

Mobility – Stay in touch, Sync up and have everything togetherAre you and your customers leveraging mobile solutions today? Do your customers have access to critical business information outside the office easily, readily, and securely? Can you articulate the strengths of the Windows Mobile platform? • Amazing, Alex. I do hope you can make it to the reunion!

I've met Scoble, but he probably doesn't remember it. :-) We have the same title, but we're on different teams; I'm part of Microsoft Across America (link above), a group that presents around the US. Tonight I'm presenting on Windows Server Update Services to a user group, for example. My job's really great, because I'm not out to sell anything; I'm just there to make people aware of technical solutions, kind of like I did in high school when I talked our friends into buying Commodore 64 computers.

Let me know if you ever want to discuss mobile solutions. I'd be happy to host an online webcast for you and your friends, if you like. Businesses are already using mobile technology in a lot of really cool ways, and it's just going to get better. Best of all, this is cool stuff that solves business needs! We're starting to see that businesses using mobile solutions are more successful than those who don't, so in many cases it's a competitive advantage. Definitely a win/win!

Hard to believe it's been twenty years since we graduated from high school, but all the proof seems to be ...
