Reboot 7.0 Blogback

Although I’ve been post­ing reg­u­larly at francebrazil.com, I’ve been away from this blog for a month( !), ever since the Reboot 7.0 con­fer­ence in Copen­hagen in early June. So after last week’s events (my trib­ute here), it’s now appro­pri­ate to return with a short blogback.

With over 400 peo­ple and 40 speak­ers, it’s impos­si­ble to link back to the peo­ple* I met and to the top­ics dis­cussed: the best way to clue-in is to fol­low the watch­list.

I par­tic­u­larly enjoyed Jyri Engeström’s pre­sen­ta­tion of object-centered social­ity (here’s a very brief sum­mary) as well as the benev­o­lent dic­ta­tor Jimbo Wales’ on Wikipedia. Loic pre­sented on the Euro­pean Blo­gospere using only a user-contributed wiki (no pow­er­point!) … the only work he had to do was pre­pare the struc­ture of the wiki, fol­low some of the links … and give the talk. Some of the speak­ers from the Les Blogs event in the French Sen­ate ear­lier this year also made the trip over to speak, includ­ing Doc, Jason and Lee (avery active on IRC** as well). It was great to see Hugh again. Peo­ple from all over the world came and I enjoyed din­ner the great team from the por­tuguese por­tal, Sapo, includ­ing Andre, Pedro C. and Pedro M.

Lots of great stuff hap­penned, includ­ing learn­ing and con­nect­ing with oth­ers. It’s all been blogged else­where and I’m eager to get back into a blog­ging rhythm again here. My pho­tos of the event are on flickr as are those taken by oth­ers.
