Over a hun­dred peo­ple gath­ered at l’Echangeur in Paris last week to hear Howard Rhein­gold talk and field ques­tions about his book Smart Mobs, about “Tech­nolo­gies of Coöper­a­tion” and about how new means of com­mu­ni­ca­tion have trans­formed soci­eties over time … and will con­tinue to do so. The con­fer­ence stirred lively debate over cock­tails gra­ciously offered by Guil­laume Rio and oth­ers at L’Echangeur, and it was a plea­sure to meet wi-fi pic­ningers Jean-Remi Deleage and Tris­tan Mendes, to chat with Lau­rent Bervas, as well as to see Yann Mauchamp and Charles Nouÿrit again, with his iPod Nano.
