Char­ity is inher­ently social, it’s part of who we are as peo­ple, in some cases it’s even a part of our iden­tity, and Causes wants to help make char­ity a part of our every­day lives. Causes counts 130 mil­lion Face­book users, $30 mil­lion raised to date for char­i­ties, $25 aver­age dona­tion (out­side Causes, the aver­age dona­tion is $250). To par­tic­i­pate in Causes, you have to be a Reg­is­tered Orga­ni­za­tion, to pre­vent cause. For now, it’s only for US reg­is­tered com­pa­nies, but in the future they want to open that up.

Zynga has already raised 147,394 dona­tions by adding a Causes but­ton into one of their games (Far­mville), as part of the Causes Hol­i­day Wish pro­gram.
